Poor Sprite! I am sure she would be offended to know that I am writing about all of her early problems! But, she sure has mellowed out this past year. I am not sure if it is because of the medication that we have her on for her arthritis (Zubrin) or if it just that she is getting to a stage of life that requires a lot of sleep.
And, sleep she does! I remember back to just a few years ago… When my husband would get up to shower in the morning, she would jump up and go sit at the end of the bed and wait for him to pet her. Now it seems as if she is totally oblivious to his departure from bed.
When I used to get up to go shower, she would usually readjust herself on the bed so that she was laying up against my pillow. Now, as soon as I make any movement to get up, she goes over to my side of the bed’s edge and begs to be put on the ground so that we can quickly go downstairs. She loses no time in getting outside.
So, last week, when I was able to get up without her moving… I rushed to see if she was still breathing!
She has been such a good girl for our family, and we love her so much. Pets truly do bring out the best in us, don’t they?
